Holy Spirit or Me?

By admin

well, the Lord has been doing a lot in my life.  He is teaching me how to discern and trust His Spirit.  He is teaching me that the voice i often hear.  (not audible, which can be sometimes,)is often him speaking.  How does God speak to His people?  Well that is a topic that will take more than one blog post to talk about.

Often with prophetic people you will hear things.  Sometimes we don’t wait and ask Jesus if it is Him or not we just instantly think it is Him.  In the new covenant of His blood, God dwells in His people by His Spirit.

So thus God will speak in your spirit.  In 1 Corinthians it states that when we are “joined unto the Lord,”  we become “one spirit.”  So thus, The Holy Spirit speaks in our Spirit and to our spirit.

What is the difference between soul and spirit?  This is from dictionary.com:  the emotional part of human nature; the seat of the feelingsor sentiments.

The Hebrew word for soul that came from Genesis is “nephesh.” (Blue Letter Bible)  One definiton of the Hebrew word is this:1) soul, self, life, creature, person, appetite, mind, living being, desire, emotion, passion(Blue Letter Bible.com)  The soul refers to the heart, where our secrets are hidden.  This is the area God has created for our desires to be placed in.  This area is the place where humans contain their personality, traits, desires, wants, etc.

Is the soul a bad thing ?  NO!  God created it.  God loves to touch us.  He loves to give us joy!  He loves to touch our emotions.  But He also loves when we ,(with our soul, in this case, represents our will,) to be submitted to Him to cleanse and purge.  In Proverbs, it talks about having our soul come under the submission to our Spirit.
How do we do that?  we ask the Lord to sanctify our soul and cause it to submit to His Spirit.  This also comes through Genuine Repentance.  God understands how we feel.  But God loves us so much that he wants to sanctify us everyday in a deeper way to see Him clearer.

Part Two will come next Week.
